This was commissioned to be in the naturally wooded part of my client’s garden. It was positioned in a clearing and the Roe buck bronze was nearby. The whole scene looks fabulous, and it was a very lovely project to work on.

This native wild deer was very common where I used to live in Hampshire. They are hunted and I was given a gold medal set of horns to incorporate into the sculpture.

When I was riding, I used to see quite big herds and although shy I could always get quite close on a horse. They obviously didn’t see me as such a threat with four legs rather than two!

This large, elegant feline speed machine is brisling with anticipation and impending movement. Making this piece was very enjoyable; I like to work in this scale and I loved exploring the structure and movement of this animal athlete.

These are such lovely birds and you forget how big they are until you see them closely. They have a lovely shape with their amazing beak and neck. I have a fish pond very close to my window and although I would rather not share anymore of my fish with them, I am always struck by their size and beauty!

I first made this wolf as quite a small sculpture, but I liked it so much, I made it as a larger sculpture. It looks great as part of the landscape and the first photo of one on a winter’s day in Connecticut USA, is one of my favourites.

This was commissioned by Motivator’s owners the Ascot Racing Club. I first made it as a one sixth life size maquette, I then scaled it up and made it as a life-size sculpture. I am very proud to have it at Ascot Racecourse. The Maquette was later cast and offered exclusively to members of the owning syndicate.

One of my favourite thing s to do is a head study. You can portray so much just from the expression and attitude. I have often thought that if I didn’t have the passion for Quarter Horses, I would turn to one of the Iberian breeds. The Andalusia and Lusitanian breeds are an so distinctive and sculptural. I also love to use a long mane to add movement and focus the eye.

Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture – POA

I made this sculpture in two sizes; 12 inches (30cms) and life-size – 12 foot (3.68 m) high. These beautiful, massive fish with their electric blue colouring are famously one of the ultimate game fish.

When I was asked to make this, I had to research them quite considerably. Watching them fighting the line for hours is both thrilling and sad. Seeing them hung as lifeless trophies seems a worthless end for such a magnificent creature. Thankfully most are now tagged and released.

I wanted to have a work in progress at the Game Fair and a Labrador is an obvious choice for country people. This dog visited the stand on several occasions and created lot of interest.
